Providing Light In Gross Darkness

The End Will Justify the Means

2 Timothy 2:10 says “Therefore I endure all things for the
elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus
with eternal glory.” (KJV)

The passion that Paul is modeling in this scripture is
something we all can adopt in our walk with Christ. Paul was persecuted
everywhere he went and was locked up because of his teachings about Christ.
Paul was willing to sacrifice his life literally if it meant bringing deliverance
to the lost.  At our church, Victorious
Faith Christian Center, our Pastor is currently teaching a series entitled “Fulfilling
God’s Operational Promise”. One aspect of God’s promise is that he brought
salvation to world through his crucifixion and resurrection. By doing this,
Jesus set us free to bring spiritual freedom to the world. One of the toughest
tasks in the modern church is evangelism. Why do so many shy away from it? It’s
because we do not have the same passion as Paul had in his ministry. The word
says that we overcome by the power of our testimony.  In other words we can lead someone to Christ
simply from telling them about God delivered you out of a similar situation.

Evangelism will bring a level of burden to your life.  Paul tells Timothy in verse 3 to “endure
hardness as a good soldier”, and then gives him the characteristics of a good
soldier in verse 4 where he says a good soldier does not “entangle himself with
the affairs of this life”. I submit to you that everyone will not be receptive
of you spreading the Gospel. Some may challenge your faith with off the wall
questions, or refuse to accept your beliefs.  Don’t get discouraged. When you adopt the
passion that Christ and Paul have, none of these things will hinder your drive
to compel the lost. What are you willing to sacrifice in order for those
relatives, coworkers, husbands, wives, significant others will be saved?
Everything in God is subject to seed, time, and harvest. Plant those seeds now
follow it up with prayer and watch how God will work. When we start praying for
the salvation of those around us whom we love it reflects the selfless nature
of Christ.  But it starts with one
person- You! God Bless.

  1. One caution refresh the title. People often use the phrase “the ends justifies the means” along with “by all means necessary” which is not correct..we still have the law of Christ to live by.
