A Benefits Package like nothing else
Psalm 16: “Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips. The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before
me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (KJV)
I can think of nothing better and more fulfilling then having a fruitful relationship with Christ. In Christ, lie so many benefits that we can take advantage of now and eternally. First, we belong to a rich heritage and a blood line of excellence. In this blood line is an immeasurable
inheritance. When our natural families have hurt us or brought shame to us, we can always delight in our spiritual father.
He is the source of all things good. Apart from him we can do no good thing. In God is endless wisdom. When we possess godly wisdom, we are placed in a position to avoid wickedness, we are at consistent peace with one another, andour steps are ordered in the Lord. When we possess Godly wisdom, we are hungry for truth, we value wisdom above the riches of the world, respond to correction, and profit from correction. Too many of us rely on humanistic thinking our intellectual knowledge as our sole source of everything Humanistic thinking leads to excessive amounts of mediocrity manifesting in ourlives. When mediocrity takes route, we measure ourselves by the world’s
standards, we justify our sin or compare it to others, and we glorify ourshortcomings. This is not a life for the elect of God. We are called to live our lives to a greater standard- a standard that the world can never understand. The most important thing we can delight in is eternal life. Our soul has a place of rest when we depart from this earth. Heaven is our ultimate reward. God blesses us here on earth, but nothing compares to that final reward we will receive.
When you feel like you have nothing going in your life, God is saying that I have chose you before the foundation of the Earth. I have saved you from a life of turmoil and have stored up blessings for you. For most, we cannot reap benefits on our jobs until after a specific probationary
period. Isn’t it wonderful that we can start reaping the benefits the minute we respond to His call? The very moment we choose to be obedient the blessings will continuously flow. Everything God has for us is subject to our obedience. If God isn’t blessing you, look within your life at areas of disobedience and rebellion. Sure you say I obey God; I pray, I read his word, and go to church. But what about those areas where of obedience that will stretch you out of your comfort zone? These are the areas where God is waiting for your obedience. Will you answer the call?
