Death to -Ism and -Schism
Ephesians 2:19-22 – “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21In whom all the building
fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Paul wrote Ephesians to strengthen believers in the Ephesus and explain the purpose of the church. In this passage Paul is talking to the Gentiles who through Christ have been adopted into the body of Christ. Paul is saying that they were adopted for the purpose of forming the
church. God built the church, as verse 22 says, for the purpose of his spirit having a dwelling place. It is verse 22 that I want to hone in on for a few words of encouragement to the body of Christ.
God’s plan to establish a dwelling place is contingent upon we as the body operating in a spirit of unity. Satan knows this which is why he tries so hard to attack the church with –isms and –schism. The bible commands us to walk in the spirit or to always be spiritually minded. Why? Because this is the only way that unity can dwell in the church. So many people have been hurt by people within the church which is why church population is similar that of a roller coaster- It goes up and down. Gossip, backbiting, sexual perversion, egotism, contentiousness, and pigs in the pulpit are destroying the church; making it of none effect in the community or the world. Is this the way we respect God’s home? We have more
respect for each other’s individual homes than the Church. God’s spirit is not in a place of chaos and confusion. Psalm133 says “ 1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon
the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore (Emphasis Added). We see through another passage the importance of unity. Unity shows that we committed to serving Christ wholeheartedly. Here’s another perspective. If the church is in a state
of disarray, how can lead unbelievers to Christ? Unbelievers are looking for an alternative to their destitute life of sin. The world is full disorder and confusion. 1 Peter 2:9 says that we are a peculiar people. Let’s walk in what God says we are.
May God continue to bless you and keep you in perfect peace

Well said Man of God! When will we learn? We have been given divine power and authority over the enemy but we still allow personality conflicts and such like to hinder the move of God. It is time for believers to “grow-up”. I challenge your readers to tell their own flesh to “die already.” We simply need to crucify the flesh; everyday, that is the only way we can live in the Kingdom of God. There is much work for us to do; souls are hanging in the balance waiting for us to do the work that God had called us to.
Don’t give the enemy place in your life, he wants to steal, kill, and destroy all that the Lord has planned for you!
Grace and Peace!
